I don't think there is any specific format for a tenant to notify the landlord that they are not renewing their lease. The government pressured lenders to make more mortgage money available to lower income people so they could buy homes. The lenders did that and the sub-prime market was born. Now some of those borrowers are at risk of losing their homes. There?s a lot of talk about how variable rate mortgages can create havoc when interest rates rise, but THAT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENED. What happened is that the value of real estate has dropped and many buyers who got 95 or 100 percent financing on their homes found themselves owing more than their homes were worth. No homeowner wants to be on the hook for a $150,000 mortgage when his home is now worth only $130,000. So they default and blame the lenders. Government isn?t about to take the blame, so politicians join in blaming the lenders who just did what they were told to do. Lenders are going to take a long bath in dirty water before this crisis is over. But if they lose $25,000 on every home they have to repossess and sell, that is a lot cheaper than getting hit with class action lawsuits alleging discriminatory lending practices and losing $100,000 on every home they refused to finance.. . Now we have the idiot Obama calling for an investment of $150 billion over 10 years to fund research into ?next generation biofuels? that don?t exist. We use nearly 400 million gallons of gasoline every day. There is no way we are ever going to replace all that gasoline with biofuels, but that is the ?solution? he is promoting. And, of course, he is blaming ?Big Oil? and speculators for the run-up in oil prices. Have the oil companies done anything illegal? No. If they did, why did the congress pass a bill authorizing us to sue OPEC for price fixing rather than the oil companies?
