There are better journals to find out facts about nuclear power plants than huffington for the serious reader. The case id one where government oversite is lacking. It should not be under just state authority or the NRC. The NRC has at times bent under pressure from state representatives who failed to demand clean up as well as providing nuclear renovations not be charged to the public but to the industry for doing business. If it was under government authority as was proposed years ago when the industry was at it's most vital some of the problems today would be corrected as well as using new research on spent fuel rods. I worked in the nuclear power industry for five years and helped build three, Indiana power, Illinois Byron/Braidwood and Ohio Davis Besse nuclear power plant. Today it is still one of the best forms of energy but one that need more oversite and attention.
