. Lets say I owe a credit card $1000 from 5 years ago. If my credit already sucks why not offer $500 (or whatever) with the condition that anything negative regarding my experience with them be removed from my credit report? Wouldn't they just assume agree to this and get some money rather than possibly nothing???.

With the current housing bust, the main asset our house (in my name only) is losing value day by day. And I still have not signed up for a Living Trust to help transfer my assets to my wife and children. Now I'm wondering if by signing a Living Trust I'll put undue financial burden on my wife who is currently not working.

some changes have been made in the policy of most states for simple name changes because of federal legislation that has come about because of 9/11. Additionally, hiring an attorney will save you from many headaches. Just be sure to get a firm quote from your attorney for all fees up front and get more than one quote as fees can vary from firm to firm.. . I am not an attorney and this is not legal advise.

You have to go through the courts and petition yourself to get your name changed. Then you submit that to the State Dept. and change your passport. But you need the first part first.. . Then you will need to change your license in order to obtain your marriage license. That will show residency. Some states will allow you to just have a passport to get the marriage license.
