• Robert J. Donatoni received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1976 with a major in History and a minor in?Economics. He graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa for academic excellence. Mr. Donatoni received his law degree from Temple University School of Law in 1979 graduating with honors.

  From 1979 through 1980, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in Chester County and from 1980 to 1983 as an Assistant Public Defender in Chester County. Since 1984, Mr. Donatoni has been engaged in the private practice of law with a primary emphasis in representing individuals and entities investigated and accused of crimes in state and federal courts. In addition to his state and federal practice in Pennsylvania, Mr. Donatoni has defended criminal prosecutions in the federal courts of New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, South Carolina, Arizona, Wyoming, Virginia and Georgia in addition to appearing in state courts on behalf of the accused in New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Tennessee and Florida.

  Mr. Donatoni is a past President of, PACDL, the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers having also served as Secretary, Vice President and President-Elect of that organization as well as being a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He served for six years as a Hearing Examiner for the Supreme Court Disciplinary Counsel and has served as the Chairperson of the Chester County Criminal Rules Committee, a Chester County Task Force investigating abuses of the 911 system and has twice served on a Blue Ribbon Panel for judicial selection for state court trial judges in Chester County.

  In October of 2003, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Mr. Donatoni was inducted as a Fellow of, ACTL, the American College of Trial Lawyers. The ACTL is an organization limited to 1% of the bar in the United States and Canada and induction as a Fellow is done only after nomination by a Fellow of the ACTL and extensive investigation regarding professional and ethical standards. He has served as a Member of the ACTL Committee on Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure and was appointed to the Pennsylvania State Committee whose purpose is to assess the qualifications of proposed nominees to the American College of Trial Lawyers. Real estate laws and practices very from state to state. So my answers my be a little vague since I am not an expert in all 50 states and it sounds like you are not sure where you plan on living. Although I have held real estate licenses in California and Virginia.. Q: I was just wondering how frequent job opportunities come up?. A: Typically most real estate agents work for a real estate broker. The broker in most cases is the owner of an independent office or franchised firm. The majority of agents work as independent contractors and not as employees of the office. This means that there is limited costs for the broker to bring you on as an agent so as long as you have an active license in the state that you are living in, it shouldn't be hard to find work.. Q: What pay should i expect?. A: Typically an agents income is limited only by the number of transactions that they close. The more you sell the more you make! The amount that you make on each deal will vary as well as the amount of commission that you earn. You can also expect that you will have to then pay your broker a portion of your commission as well. The brokers cut will vary from office to office and you should ask the broker what percentage you will pay to the office. In most cases commissions are normally paid by the seller of the property, % based, and normally set by the seller and are normally split between the selling agent and the buying agent.. Scenario: You represent the buyer, $250,000 home, 6% Commission to be split 50/50 between agents, and your broker split is 70/30. Your pay would be $250Kx3% = $7500, then of that you need to pay your broker 30%. $7500x70%= $5,250 is what you could expect to get paid.. Another cost that you need to ask your future broker is what additional monthly costs will you have to pay. Insurance, office administration fees, etc., etc..... Some offices will offer 100% but will charge you high monthly office fees. Others may take a larger cut of you commission but will charge you smaller office fees. You will have to determine what works best for you.. Q: what other certificates/training would i have to do?. A: That will depend on the state that you plan on living in. Check with the state board to see what training will be required of you. After getting your license it is not uncommon for most states to require that you attend and continue education to maintain your active license. A good broker will be able to guide you with these requirements as well.
