I recently did a very unprofessional act at my job and was confronted about the incident and I was put on probation from my job because of it. They never told me how long the probation was going to last but it is the off season for my job so I am wondering if when I try to come back they will not want me back. I work at an LLC and my boss is one of the partial owners. Every week I enter the expense reports and print out the checks. Very often he claims personal expenses as business expenses. For example, his partner came to visit and went out to dinner with his extire family. He claimed the entire meal as a businesse expense even though his wife and kids were there. He also used company money to buy his wife a plane ticket to accompany him to a business conference. Is this illegal even though it is a privately helf company and he is one of the owners. Is there some agency where I can report this?. I am not a CPA..I merely do A/P and A/R for the company. I just wasn't sure if it was illegal or not since it is a private company and he is the owner..
