• Suzette has always enjoyed the art of litigation, and she has found her niche in real estate. After passing the bar, Suzette spent several years at Wiegel & Fried, LLP, a San Francisco boutique law firm specializing in landlord/tenant issues. During her tenure, she prepared commercial and residential lease agreements, negotiated contracts, and argued before several state courts and administrative agencies, including the San Francisco Board of Appeals, the San Francisco Rent Board, the Oakland Rent Board, and the California Labor Commission.

  In December of 2004, Suzette joined BSCB to further develop her litigation skills and expertise. This new endeavor allowed her to take on new challenges involving title insurance, escrow closings, coverage disputes, boundary disputes, and advising commercial tenants and landlords in real estate transactions. Suzette has won several trials (as 1st and 2nd chair) in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, and Contra Costa Counties involving title/escrow issues, contract disputes, mechanics liens, easement issues, homeowners association matters, and commercial unlawful detainers. Her litigation experience provided the foundation she needed to successfully argue before State, Federal, and Appellate Courts (1st District and 9th Circuit). She has been rated AV Preeminent? by her peers, the highest rating on Martindale-Hubble?.

  Suzette is an active member of the East Bay CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women), the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area (Women’s Section), the Contra Costa County Bar Association (Real Estate/Litigation/Women’s Section), and the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California. She currently serves as a Board Member for the Contra Costa County Bar Association – Women’s Section.

  Suzette is also an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University Law School where she teaches Practical Legal Writing to 3L’s in preparation of the State Bar. In her spare time, she continues to mentor law students at Golden Gate University Law School and serves as a volunteer judge/evaluator for Golden Gate University Law School’s Trial Advocacy class and Bernie L. Segal’s Criminal Mock Trial Competition.
