So long as your father is competent he can sign a revocation and a new poa appointing you. Once signed (and notarized) copies should be sent via overnight mail to his cheating wife. You should google Durable Power of Attorney forms to see if there is one online free or for a nominal fee. The Durable can be modified to add a sentence revoking all prior powers of attorney including without limitation the one naming his wife as attorney in fact. Also, copies should be sent to banks where he has accounts and brokerages where he has accounts so that they know not to honor the poa issued to his wife.

Basically, I got my name changed when i was younger because my mum remarried, when I was old enough I changed it back to my father's surname.. . Everything is in my real name except my National Insurance Number card, which still uses my mothers remarried surname.. . I applied for a job 2 years ago and I got the job, they accepted all my documentation. Does it say something like that? I guess you can see by now what we need in order to answer your question.. . General answer is Banks or anyone do not have to honor a power of attorney. But, courts generally honor the power of attorney so that means you can sue banks for not honoring the power of attorney. However, at this point you will definitely need an attorney-at-law!
