I honestly never heard of an apartment complex issuing a "cease and desist" letter. That would imply that they are threatening legal action, which in most cases, an apartment is not going to waste money on a lawsuit on a tenant. They are just going to evict according to the terms of the lease. I guess you can consider eviction legal action. You'll just receive a notice on your door, but not a formal "cease and desist" letter. It is usually a "warning" note just stating that you've received a complaint. Depending on what state you live in, this step is mandatory. They cannot pursue other actions without informing you that there has been a complaint and how you can fix it.. . In all the leases I have signed in my lifetime (ex-military spouse, lived in five different states, own properties in two different states, and I act as a landlord myself), there is always a clause addressing noise complaints. On average, it is three complaints before termination of the lease. This is not a "cease and desist" situation. This is a "you've received too many complaints and therefore are in breach of contract and we are terminating your lease" situation. The current complex I live in now only gives you two complaints. They don't evict you, but they bar you from signing or renewing your lease.. . My suggestion: Read your lease. There is no such thing as a "typical" amount of complaints. It is usually outlined in the lease or in an addendum regarding complaints in general. In my experience, three complaints, no matter what they are for, is typically the norm to be evicted and/or have your lease terminated. Again, my current complex will evict for one police related complaint.. . I guess my point is, most apartments are not formal enough to ask you to cease and desist anything. They are sticklers for the lease and usually have some typical form file type warning they send out. I don't define those as "cease and desist."

I love the name Micah! I think that Reginald and Ernest are too long as middle names if you want your name to match your brother and sister's. I think Micah-Evin is the nicest, and I also like Micah-Erin. I think these names work best, because they honour your great grandfather, but they don't look super old-fashioned which means that they still fit with your sibling's names. I also like Micah-Evan, but I don't know whether that'd be similar enough to your great grandfather's name.

I got married in August and my college will not accept my certificate of marriage from the county recorders office. They stated that they want a copy of my ss card (they didn't need that to verify my maiden name). They advised that my certificate of marriage is not a legal document. I don't feel comfortable giving a copy of my ss card and they refuse to change my name unless I do which could jeopardize my financial aide and anything reported to the IRS when I do my taxes.. . Thanks. I don't mind showing them my card to show that it matches, I just don't want them to have a copy on file. I have had 3 advisors in 12 months and do not feel comfortable with them having an actual copy when there are so many employees in and out that have access to my records. .

We wanted to get the agreement in paper, so I was wondering,

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I found a software called "PHPForms Users", but not sure if this does what I want.. . Thanks.
