  • David first began working with Larry Sokol in 2001. Since joining Larry Sokol, David has worked on many medical malpractice, as well as other personal injury, claims. In addition to assisting Larry on his cases, David has litigated many claims, including medical malpractice claims. David enjoys trying cases to a jury, and continues to try cases to verdict.

In addition to trial work, David has briefed the Oregon Court of Appeals, the Oregon Supreme Court, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is admitted to practice law in Oregon, Washington, and before the District of Oregon and the Ninth Circuit.

David took an unorthodox path on his way to becoming an attorney. He has lived variously in Europe, Australia, South America, and the Rockies. He has spent time doing relief work in impoverished parts of the world. Among other occupations, prior to becoming an attorney David has worked as a carpenter, snow maker, landscaper, and English tutor.

David received a degree in International Studies with a minor in Spanish from the University of Oregon. He is also a graduate of Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College.

When not practicing law, David can be found skiing, hiking and backpacking, biking, fishing, gardening and just about anything else that involves being in the outdoors. Most of these activities he does with his wife, Wendy, his two boys Henry and Charlie, and his dog, Anna.

Why is it Critical to Have an Experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney, Especially in a Child's Case?

If you or a loved one has been injured by the negligence of a doctor, nurse or health care facility, you will need an attorney who has extensive experience in the investigation, negotiation and litigation of medical malpractice claims.

Medical malpractice is a highly specialized area of the law. What makes medical malpractice law so unique is that an attorney must know both the law and medicine. To properly understand a case and convey to a jury why the doctor was negligent, the attorney must understand medicine well enough to properly investigate the case, contact the right expert witness and properly question witnesses on direct and cross-examination.

Put Our Experience to Work for You

We learned it by doing it. By meeting with doctors, researching and reading thousands of medical documents and handling medical malpractice claims for more than three decades, we have some good ideas of what needs to happen.

If you have been injured by the negligence of a doctor, nurse or medical care facility, contact the experienced medical malpractice lawyers at Sokol & Foster.

Hope this helps answer your question

To build on another question I asked, what would happen to my credit score if I paid in full my bad debts? Would that restart the 7 years?. . I currently have a 640-660 credit score and need to increase it in less than two years. I do have 3 negative items which will be at the end of their seven year mark in three months..
