Martina, P.C., Peter was a Staff Attorney at Lakeshore Legal Aid. During that time, he was the sole family law attorney in Macomb County providing full-time, pro bono representation to indigent members of the community, many of whom were victims of domestic violence. His practice focused on divorce, custody, and parenting time proceedings. This position allowed Peter to develop experience in high-conflict family law cases and to build on his significant prior litigation experience acquired representing clients in complex commercial and medical malpractice cases.

  Peter was named a 2013 Super Lawyers Rising Star, a distinction reserved for the top 2.5% of the attorneys in the state. He is a member of the American Civil Liberties Union's Lawyers Committee for both the Michigan and Metro Detroit chapters. He was a committee member and assisted in the drafting of the State Court Administrator's Office Domestic Violence Protocols for Mediation. He has served on the Macomb Community Domestic Violence Council as a board member and as the Prevention Task Force Chair.
