    Surname changes for marriage?

Here's the way the law works.. . The employer (as part of the employee liabilities) has to asses if you are fit to do the job they employ you for - it is their assessment that allows you to work or not work - as only they know and understand the task that they wish you to do. It is not the doctors decision to work / not work.. . That said, it is a very foolish employer / workplace that ignores the advice of an 'expert'. . What you doctor needs to do is write a letter of recomendation that in your work role, you get certain things (eg regular breaks or excercise), or do not sit for prolonged (define a time) periods without a substantial break etc, in order to prevent your health being damaged further.. . With that clear liability and information, the workplace can make a judgement call.. they can reduce your hours, . give you longer breaks. split your shift into shorter ones. . lots of options, to accommodate your needs,. They need however to ensure that it is done in a non-discriminatory way (towards others who may not get these benefits) while still accommodating your needs. Is your condition enough to register as disabled ? (as that gives you and the workplace more flexibility to accommodate your needs).. . if you end up being unfit to do the task as needed, then you are not fit for work 'at that job'.. . so go get the consultants letter of requirement or recommendation,. and discuss with your management, HR and company medical representative (if there is one). . If they don't accommodate the condition, then I expect that you will end up with more un-fit notes and time off (!) which may bring their attention also. But get formal documentation for every time off (no matter how small).
