• Mr. Vargas is a 1974 graduate of the University of Illinois. He obtained his law degree at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1985 and is admitted to practice before various state and federal courts including: the State of Illinois Supreme Court (1985); the Supreme Court of Florida (1986); the District Court of Columbia Court of Appeals (1986); the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois (1986), Southern District of Florida General Bar (1990), Southern District of Florida Trial Bar (1992), District of Columbia (1999); United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit (1994); and the United States Supreme Court (2002).

  Prior to establishing the firm of Vargas and Lujardo Mr. Vargas was a named partner with the law firm of Lehtinen, Vargas & Riedi specializing in Environmental Law and Litigation, Criminal Law, Forfeiture Law and Litigation, Indian Law and Litigation, Gaming Law; Labor and Employment Law and Litigation, Sports Law, Premises Liability and Negligence cases, and Trial Practice, as well as other civil litigation matters.

  Prior to private practice, Mr. Vargas served as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney's Office, for the Southern District of Florida, in Miami (1990.1994) where he prosecuted complex money laundering and narcotics cases. as well as environmental crimes. In 1987, Mr. Vargas was appointed to serve as a state prosecutor with the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office. During his tenure Mr. Vargas prosecuted capital cases, major felonies, and narcotics offenses. Mr. Vargas' duties also included the supervision and training of Assistant State Attorneys assigned to his criminal division. Before moving to Florida in 1986, Mr. Vargas practiced civil litigation in the state of Illinois.

  Mr. Vargas was born in Matanzas, Cuba, and is fluent in English and Spanish.

Sorry about your loss. Warranty, no question, especially coming out of the trust. If you do a quit claim deed out of the trust transfering ownership, you really are not protected in any way. The warranty deed has more weight, especially in your case. Also make sure a real estate attorney completes this deed for you, deeds coming out of a trust can be tricky, depending on the state the property is in, there may be some affidavits that need to accompany this transfer and deed as well as any tax transfer/tax forms that need to be filled out and possibly a county cover page, best wishes

the contract was not unethical and even if it was it is still legal and binding.... you knew what you were facing and you decide this attorney was what you needed.... the attorney did their job, how often or how much you met with the attorney is IRRELEVANT, all that matters is the outcome...

It just seems unfair in the extreme. The employer writes the contract and says "sign it or you don't get a [terrible] job," so you're basically stuck with paying for their high priced lawyers even if you win against the employer when they sue you or they end up being wrong. This is in Ohio by the way.. Thank you.. . I have read the agreement. Merger clause and no severability clause that would allow anything else to survive if any part of the agreement was struck down.
