• Lisa R. McCall joined the firm as an associate attorney in June 2012. She has extensive experience in civil writs and appeals, with a focus on family law appellate matters. Ms. McCall has completed both the Houston Family Law Trial Institute, an extensive family law trial training program, and the Orange County Bar Association College of Trial Advocacy. She has served as both program chair and section chair of the appellate section of the Orange County Bar Association, responsible for planning educational programs for appellate attorneys in Orange County and facilitating the relationship between the appellate bench and bar.

  Ms. McCall earned her J.D., cum laude, from Whittier Law School in 2006, where she was a senior member of the Whittier Law School Journal of Child and Family Advocacy, a teaching assistant in first-year legal writing, and an active member of the Public Interest Law Foundation. During law school, she became a certified mediator and has mediated small claims cases at the Orange County Superior Court. She became a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court in December 2010.

  Ms. McCall has volunteered with Public Law Center, where she represented pro bono family law litigants, and regularly volunteers with Constitutional Rights Foundation of Orange County, where she serves as an attorney judge at the annual Constitutional Rights Foundation mock trial competitions. She also serves as an appellate attorney judge at the annual California State University Long Beach moot court competitions. For the past two years, Ms. McCall has privately tutored law students in the areas of legal writing and law school examination preparation. In Fall 2012, she was invited by her alma mater, Whittier Law School, to become an adjunct professor, where she currently co-teaches an Appellate Advocacy course.

  With her background in appeals and writs, primarily in family law cases, Ms. McCall brings "hindsight" insight to the firm. She is experienced in the statement of decision process and in preparing and preserving the record for appeal.

• Dorie A. Rogers, CFLS,?was born in Worcester, Mass in 1953. Her parents divorced when she was eight (8) years old during a time when divorce was considered unacceptable. Raised in a single parent home and later a blended family that moved to Washington DC and then Florida, Ms. Rogers understands first-hand the emotional and financial impact divorce has on families.

  Ms. Rogers put herself through college and law school, first obtaining degrees in Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Associate of Science in Mental Health Technology. She obtained her Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctorate at Western State University, College of Law.

  Prior to her legal profession and during law school, Ms. Rogers was employed by an acute psychiatric hospital working with adolescents and adults inpatient a therapeutic setting. In her law practice she employs her psychological training in her case assessments with clients.

  Licensed since 1981, Ms. Rogers has devoted her legal career in Orange County to family law and helping families negotiate the psychological and financial pitfalls of divorce. After the birth of her son Ms. Rogers took a sabbatical to enjoy parenthood. Ms. Rogers is qualified as Minor's Counsel on the Orange County's Minor's Counsel panel.

  Besides her effective representation in high conflict custody cases with psychological issues and experts, Ms. Rogers is experienced in the litigation and settlement of high asset financial divorce cases. Working with forensic experts, her goal is to maximize a client's property division and to minimize the resulting tax implications.

  Ms. Rogers is competitive not only in her legal profession but her recreational time as well. She is an avid sailor who enjoys ocean racing, having competed in the Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race the past three years, among other regattas. Ms. Rogers enjoys running marathons, weight training and gourmet cooking. She's sat on various non-profit boards and leadership organizations in her religious community.

They apply only to people with a gross estate of greater than $2 million, and even people who have that much or more can erase estate taxes very easily. "Lift the cap" on social security taxes: Even assuming this is true, the lifting the cap would mean that people with incomes of more than $100,000 would now pay their fair share of SS taxes, instead of receiving a tax break, as they now do. Impose the new "patriot" tax: Newsflash: Within the next week President Bush is expected to sign this bill into law (Section 877A of the Internal Revenue Code). It will be the law before the next election. The law was proposed before Obama ever even ran for the Illinois Senate. Bush supports it. It imposes mark-to-market taxation on people with net worth of more than $2 million who give up US citizenship to avoid paying US tax. My heart does not bleed for them, either.. . 7. "His fellow democrats have already voted in a windfall profits tax on pensions, retirement funds, etc." This is just plain false. The windfall profits tax would not apply to pensions or retirement funds. And it is a long way from becoming the law of the land anyway.
