  • Richard Gutstadt, an Oakland, California attorney, has successfully represented Social Security Disability claimants for over 35 years, winning thousands of cases and appeals. There is no greater professional satisfaction than helping individuals obtain their well-deserved Social Security Disability benefits.

In his 35 years of legal representation, Mr. Gutstadt has won just about every type of disability case one can imagine. It never ceases to amaze Richard, however, how different each case is. Even though medical conditions may carry similar diagnoses, each individual has a different set of circumstances and compelling story to present to Social Security.

In July of 2011 Mr. Gutstadt hired an extremely capable associate with extensive professional experience: Eric Patrick. In combination, these two attorneys form a powerful union which results in even more effective advocacy on behalf of an extremely deserving client population.

Social Security Disability is an all or nothing system. Either you are - or you are not - considered disabled by Social Security. The stakes are high, indeed.

A claimant's disability need not be ongoing, but must last at least one year. Someone who is disabled for more than one year, but then gets better and can return to work, may be entitled to benefits during the period of disability. This represents a so-called closed period of benefits.

Richard's philosophy is to develop the strongest possible case before Social Security, generally an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ).

Richard's strategy is to work hard and build a case with all available medical and other non-medical evidence. Based upon careful preparation, the goal is to convince Social Security that an individual is legally deserving of Social Security Disability benefits.

This Web site is an evolving entity. Please visit various components and learn more about Richard and the Social Security Disability process.

samples of business letter?

I have received a summons letter for a speeding offence that I committed. I would like to write a letter to the court stating that I want to plead guilty but I have no idea how to start off or what to include. Can any lawyers out there give me a template? Thank you.

Changing your name?

I think it seems very personal. Just writing OK also sounds very personal.

Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash.. . Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer.. . 6 "Rules to follow" to avoid most fake jobs:. 1) Job asks you to use your personal bank account and/or open a new one.. 2) Job asks you to print/mail/cash a check or money order.. 3) Job asks you to use Western Union or moneygram in any capacity.. 4) Job asks you to accept packages and re-ship them on to anyone.. 5) Job asks you to pay visas, travel fees via Western Union or moneygram.. 6) Job asks you to sign up for a credit reporting or identity verification site.. . Avoiding all jobs that mention any of the above listed 'red flags' and you will miss nearly all fake jobs. Only scammers ask you to do any of the above. No. Exceptions. Ever. For any reason.. . If you google "fraud aupair job scam","fake nanny job Western Union scam" or something similar, you will find hundreds of posts from victims and near-victims of this type of scam.

and when did it begin to form?.
