  • Cyrus D. Mehta & Associates, P.L.L.C. (CDMA) represents corporate and individual clients in complex and routine immigration law matters.? The firm has a growing group of extremely talented lawyers and support staff who work closely with clients in the areas of business immigration, labor certifications, removal defense, waivers, federal court litigation, citizenship, and related matters.? CDMA’s Managing Member, Cyrus Mehta, is an internationally recognized immigration attorney who is regularly invited to speak on immigration subjects by bar associations, non-profits and universities.

Unlike many other firms that tend to specialize in one aspect of immigration law, CDMA is unique insofar that it has developed equal expertise in representing large corporations regarding their immigration needs as well as representing individuals in business and family immigration, citizenship, removal or asylum matters.? As a result of this broad expertise, CDMA is able to provide comprehensive representation to a client in virtually every immigration-related matter.

CDMA is committed to providing exceptional services to its clients, often under complex and novel circumstances, ?whether the client is a corporation or an individual.? CDMA’s well trained and dedicated staff, who speak several languages, will make every effort to provide the most optimum, ethical and creative solutions to meet each client’s objective. CDMA has also often succeeded where other lawyers have failed. ?Chambers USA 2011 has quoted sources stating: We strongly recommend this tight-knit team of professional and highly-skilled attorneys.

Through the hundreds of articles on our website and blog, we also raise public awareness of immigration trends and assist people in their grassroots advocacy efforts.? In this regard, we continue to inform the public about contemporary immigration issues of national importance, as well as advocate about the positive impact of immigrants in the United States.

CDMA's attorneys are regularly invited to speak at legal seminars and conduct workshops for bar associations, non-profit organizations and universities. We also write articles for newspapers, online publications and appear on television. The media regularly seeks our views on immigration and related issues. CDMA's present and past attorneys hold and have held high-level positions in bar associations, including the American Immigration Lawyers Association, American Immigration Council, New York City Bar, the New York City Bar Justice Center and other prestigious non-profit organizations.

CDMA has successfully litigated claims on behalf of non-citizens in immigration court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, federal district courts and courts of appeal, often on novel issues and cases of first impression.? For example, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals recently ruled favorably in a cancellation of removal case, Pareja v. Att’y Gen., 615 F.3d 180 (3d Cir. 2010).? We have also had success in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals on asylum cases, as in Karijomenggolo v. Gonzales, 173 Fed. Appx. 34 (2d Cir. 2006). ?CDMA’s attorneys also provided amicus support in an important federal district court decision establishing a broader definition for equivalent foreign degrees in employment-based immigrant visa petitions, Grace Korean United Methodist Church v. Chertoff, 437 F. Supp. 2d 1174 (D. Or. 2005).

CDMA is deeply committed to representing clients on cutting edge immigration issues, often times on a pro bono basis. We were among the first to win gender-based asylum claims on behalf of women who were unable to seek protection from their abusive spouses from their home countries. CDMA has conducted monthly pro bono clinics for a community-based organization, and has also supported the constituents of various non-profits in the area of immigration issues arising from domestic violence, persecution and HIV/AIDS. CDMA has also assisted such organizations in obtaining visas for artists or their professional employees on a pro bono basis. CDMA’s present and past attorneys have also been involved in leadership capacities with respect to finding ways to meet the unmet legal needs of the immigrant population. ?CDMA attorneys serve as mentors for the Know Your Rights Project that provides pro bono advice to detainees whose cases are handled by the Varick Street, N.Y. Immigration Court.? CDMA has also housed two AILA - New York Pro Bono Fellows.

CDMA, through Mr. Mehta, is a select member of the prestigious Alliance of Business Immigration Lawyers (ABIL), http://www.abil.com/, which is comprised of 20 top U.S. business immigration lawyers and their respective firms, who value great legal ability and provide high standards of care and concern. Its affiliate entity, ABIL Global, adds another 14 lawyers. ABIL now has over 150 attorneys (400+ total staff) devoted to business immigration in 37 major cities throughout the world, providing the most comprehensive, personalized coverage available.

I searches jack wills clothing and then saw this site. I love jack wills clothing but I worry the online shop's quality. Does anyone have any suggestion of this site?.

When someone changes his/her name in the UK through Deed Poll, the next step the person can do is to enrol the Deed Poll at the Royal Courts of Justice in London (which is not compulsary).. . Apparently, this service is only available to the British and Commonwealth citizens only. Does anyone know why? I'm an EU citizen (Italian), and the EU law says that in many areas EU citizens have the same or similar rights as native citizens in member states. . Why, in this case, I'm not allowed to enrol my Deed Poll at the Royal Courts of Justice? Do you think I should challenge their refusal in the court of law? I think they are wrong by not permitting the EU citizens, residing in the UK, who have changed their names through Deed Poll not to enrol it at their court. Can anyone provide a legal opinion on this question?. Wow, thanks 'Wise Owl' for such a detailed answer. I have now realised why EU citizens cannot enrol their name change with the Royal Courts of Justice. It is because, as you've rightly pointed out, due to the fact that GB and Commonwealth laws on changing one's name are unique.. . Absolutely right! I was amazed when I realised how easy it is to change a name here in Britain. In other countries (including my native Italy) one would face immense bureaucratic challenges. One has to fill in an application form at one of the governmental agencies specifying WHY does one need to change the name, then some government bureucrat writes his/her recommendation to the Ministry of Justice whether the name change could take place or not. Then the clerks at the Ministry of Justice discuss the matter further, check the police databases, and only then arrive to a final decision. Sometimes the whole process might take up to six months, whereas in GB one can change his/her name in 1 day!.

Love and gratitude - this is what I feel standing now in front of you. Love and gratitude - these are the best emotions one can imagine. I am happy to love you and to be grateful to you. I know that you love me too, but it is by mistake. You think I am an ideal: perfect mother, noble friend, lofty relative - you are wrong! I have to work much on myself! I am not a leopard which never changes its stripes, so I would like to assure you that my goal in life is to become as wonderful as you think I am. As far as this goal attainment requires much effort, skills and time, I hope that you'll help me in it, as always. Just like all girls I dreamt of many things, people and event in my childhood, but I couldn't even imagine that some day I would have such wonderful friends and family. I deeply appreciate your support. Thank you for being with me and Tom. In the end, I want to cite you a poem (not mine, by Richard McWilliam):
