I have a unique product that some gift stores (including Hallmark) already carry. The complete set contains a rotating display and several variations of the product in different colors / sizes plus add-ons. As they run out, they re-order individual pieces.. I'd like to introduce it to more stores. I think that up-front investment to buy a set may be a bit too much for smaller gift stores, so I'd like to offer an option of consignment. I don't have any experience with consignments, so here are my questions:. 1. I found a generic template of a consignment agreement which I'm modifying. According to the agreement, the store is required to submit sales reports monthly. Could this be easily done with normal POS / cash registers or how is it done? Everything is bar-coded.. 2. Would I have to come in and re-count the products monthly?. 3. I was thinking of setting the minimum price and giving them percentage of sale. Could they be selling it higher and reporting the minimum? How to avoid this?. Our product IS unique, we hold a patent to the product. It is being sold to Hallmark stores because we sold it to them. At this point we are trying to expand the market to smaller stores and exploring consignment option could help us..
