Hi I am staying in USA and want to give power or attorney to my wife who is in India.. I have created a power of attorney(POA) document and need to get it attested from the Indian consulate in New York.. I will be carring my original passport and the POA document in duplicate.. What other documents would I need to carry?. I am staying a a friends place. So I do not have a lease in my name.. Please help..

I think I am eligible to apply for maternity allowance. . I am currently in my probation period and I intend to leave my job before my probation period is over. I highly doubt that I am going to get maternity leave but I need my employer to complete an SMP1 form. . Im about 21 weeks and I want to leave in about 3 weeks time when I will be 24 weeks, I have accrued two weeks holiday. 29th july is when i am 15 weeks before my due date. . Am i supposed to write a letter asking them to give me maternity leave first and then they give me the SMP1form back refusing it which I then submit with my application for maternity allowance?Or do i just give them my Matb1 form and then hand in my notice ?. . Any advice or letter template greatly appreciated.. . thanks.

My husband gave his mom a general POA back in '04 when he was in the military. I don't think there was a termination date. Now, we would like me to have POA and while he signed a new one for me and it states it rules out any previous POA's, I was wondering if he has to sign a termination of POA and send it to her in order for it to officially count? Or would a judge over rule hers and accept mine considering 1. I'm his wife and 2. That was from '04 and 3. The new one states it over rides any other ones.
