but I was eventually designated by the court as sole managing conservator (sole custody) of my son and his father was given only supervised visitation rights (due to history of drug addiction and violence). Since my son was 5 weeks old my ex has only come to our residence to see my son 6 total times and only twice since he was 7 months old. He has never called, sent a card or gift on birthdays or holidays. He was ordered by the court to provide medical insurance, has never done this. He owes back child support in an amount around $15,000. My ex's family doesn't even see my son, although they will sometimes send cards/gifts but skip some b-days and christmases, they are not a large presence in my son's life. I went to court to try to change my little one's last name legally to mine (he currently has his father's) but was denied. Basically the court told me that they simply "don't like to change names of children this young." I can't understand this and am wondering if anyone has any real legal or life experience that could give me a clue here because I plan on going back to court. Appealing in any way I can with a new attorney. But I am in the middle of nursing school, and I don't exactly have excess funds to spend on this. Thanks in advance =).

Well, one of my best friends is absolutely gorgeous. Seriously, she is probably the prettiest girl I know. Anyways, I really want her to get into modeling, or at least something neat. If she wanted to start modeling, how would she begin? Just send her pictures to agencies? Also, do you think if she becomes a model there is a chance she could get picked up by Disney Channel? Of course acting has nothing to do with modeling, but she really has to look, and she has morals(good rolemodel?).. I could put a picture up..that would be..a little weird though... . She is 17..

Hello... I'm currently living in LA, CA. In a year or so, my family is planning on renting out or home in LA, selling everything we own in Big Bear, and moving to Kauai for two years. We've already applied to a private school out there we just need help finding a home on the south shore. The only issue we're having is that we don't want to buy, we want to rent out for two years. All homes there are either for vacation rent or for sale. Help finding long period rent single family home on the south shore anyone? Thanks!.
