• Mr. Sanders has been an Associate with the firm since 2009. His practice focuses primarily on federal and state appeals, personal injury, contract disputes, legal malpractice claims, and automotive insurance claims. He grew up in New Orleans and attended Archbishop Shaw High School in Marrero. In 1986 he graduated summa cum laude from Don Bosco College in Newton, New Jersey with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. i hold my husbands power of attorney while hes deployed. When we first got married I hadnt changed my last name to his yet. Now im going to change it and i want to know if the power of attorney paper will be invalid if they see my maiden last name when it is already changed to my married last name. Will he just have to get a new one with my new last name or can it stay the same?.

I know here in Texas you have to contact the Department of Vital Statistics. You might google and see if there is one in Maryland. You do not have one year here, as that rule changed 2 years ago. Now you have to pay around $40 to have it done. Good luck!
