Does anybody know a good university that offers a major in Health Care Admin in the state of Texas?.

You cannot change his name without being his registered owner. Otherwise, random people could call APHA and just change other people's horses names all the time.. . As for tranferring him, who's name is the last one on his registration papers? If he's still listed under the breeder's name (as the last owner), all you have to do is contact them, tell them the situation, and ask them to sign a transfer agreement. You would then send that in to APHA with your transfer fee and the membership fee, and VOILA, the horse is in your name.. . If however, the owner that died is the last "recorded" owner on his papers, then you need to ask APHA who can legally sign the horse's tranfer papers. You will probably just need one of his family members to do it. APHA probably has the transfer papers on their website that you can print out. Mail a copy to the guy's family and explain how important it is to you, and give them a self-addressed, stamped envelope to send it back to you in. Why would they NOT want to take the 5 seconds out to sign it?. . You don't have to tranfer it to your trainer, and then to you, but just from the last registered owner to you.. . If he hasn't even shown in APHA, then you can change his name after that, but its usually a little pricier the older they get. If you do get him changed into your name, it will help your resale value on him if you decide to sell him later.. . Good luck!
