OK, that accidental death policy, you KNOW it only covers if he dies in an accident, right? Natural causes, like a heart attack, cancer, or stroke, are NOT covered. You know that, right?. . And dismemberment is NOT the same thing as disability. In other words, if he hurts his back and is disabled and can't work any more, but doesn't become paralized or have a leg chopped off, that policy doesn't pay. I guess I'm trying to tell you, it's not likely you'll EVER collect on that AD&D policy - they're a ripoff.. . You do not make a living will together. The living will, each person does, so in case they, for example, have to go on life support, it tells the doctors when to pull the plug. It's individual. Not joint.

Nowhere in papers does it say I will quit claim, and I remained on deed, mortgage and insurance until about 3 years ago, when he managed to get this refinanced by recording these divorce papers. . He first had tried to refinance using my name as well, and I got wind of it, and stopped it. But he found another company and achieved it.. I have seen a couple attorneys, who after reading my divorce papers, said I should sue the attorney who wrote them.. I have learned recently that he has set up something that causes his new wife to inherit the property/house. Is he not in contempt of court doing this?. The kicker to all this, is that the attorney who wrote this was "our" attorney. I was told when these papers were done, it would tie him up so that he couldn't do anything without me. The attorney is also the prosecuting attorney.. This property is worth probably $200K. I didn't receive one dime from it when we divorced as I thought that at some point I would get my half. . If anyone knows an attorney that would sue another attorney, or tell me how I can put a property lien on it, or get him for contempt, I would gladly appreciate it.. Two answers-. Informally he can choose to be called what he pleases so the John Jones is fine. . Legally it is not so easy. Legally he is John Smith-Jones. Now the problem may never come up, but to have his name to have legal effect he would have to change it with a court order and a judge's approval. Legal implications would arise if he is entering into a contract, legal documents such as passports, social security issues and that kind of thing. Many people go by their middle name or first name as they prefer one to the other. I do! So it isn't a problem, but it may be, possibly.

I have been spelling my first name two different ways since I could write, and I finally figured out why. The name on my birth certificate has an extra letter than the name on my social security card. I only know now because I just got a job and they required a copy of my social security card. My parents held my birth certificate and security card in fear that I would get an ID and do bad things, I guess. (I turn 21 in a couple of days.) Also, I want to go by the spelling that is on my birth certificate, and not the name with the missing letter on my social security card. That's the name I go by. I figured since my schools never called me on it, and at school our social is your student ID, that it wasn't a problem..
