  • At the law firm of Foerster, Isaac & Yerkes, P.A., we protect the rights and interests of people in Jacksonville and throughout Florida in eminent domain, personal injury and wrongful death cases. Our attorneys have decades of experience helping people like you obtain full compensation for losses suffered at the hands of government entities and negligent parties.

Eminent domain is when the federal, state, county or city government, or any other government entity, exercises its power to acquire private property for public purposes. A recent example is the Florida Department of Transportation's overland bridge project. Under Florida law, property owners whose land is taken in projects like these have the right to fair compensation. However, that compensation rarely comes automatically. That is why the law firm of Foerster, Isaac & Yerkes is here.

Personal injury and wrongful death claims are filed when someone is injured or a life is lost because of an act of negligence. Car accidents are the most common source of these claims. As in eminent domain, fair compensation to victims is not automatic. Insurance companies work hard to avoid paying. Our lawyers even the odds.

Under Florida law, the government is required to pay for all attorney expenses in addition to the money you will receive in eminent domain cases. Personal injury and wrongful death cases are handled on a contingency basis, meaning you only pay if we get results.

How do I make my own Free website?

Most of the time, if it was work related, health insurance flat out doesn't have to pay - because it needs to be paid by workers comp.

Nope. Changing your name because of marriage is the same whether you do it the day after your wedding or five years later.. . If you are traveling abroad for your honeymoon or shortly after the wedding, you should DEFINITELY wait to change your legal name until you return from your trip. It can take up to two months to get a new passport, and your passport must match your legal name AND the name on your ticket. You can go by "Mrs. Smith" in conversation, but keep your legal name as "Ms. Jones" or whatever is on your passport/visas/ID until you get home to avoid travel mishaps.

Do application forms need cover letters?

You can just write a will. The will should be signed by your Mom in front of three witnesses who SEE HER SIGN IT and the signatures of your mother and the witnesses must be notarized. You can't be one of the witnesses. . Do you need a lawyer? Good question. Technically, no. If there is very little property involved, you can find forms on the internet and do it yourself. The catch is there are a million ways to botch it. If you go this route, make sure any forms you use on the internet are for Ohio. Take a hour or so to make sure you understand the instructions that go with anything you download, and carefully review what you are having your Mom sign. This would be a good option if you consider yourself good with bureaucracy and the internet, and if your Mom doesn't own much. The catch is there are a million ways to botch it. If she has significant amounts of property, or if bureaucracy confuses you, I would definitely go with an attorney.. . Other things to consider:. 1.) Have you thought of a health care proxy and durable power of attorney so you can handle her affairs if she becomes incapable?. 2.) Make sure you know about all her bank accounts, retirement accounts, life insurance, safety deposit boxes. Know what institutions they are at, what the account, claim, or box number is, etc. . 3.) Make her fill out the forms to make you the beneficiary of her retirement accounts (if any). There are tax reasons this is usually better than having them pass under the will. That part's easy, the plan administrator can provide forms.
