After you get married to her biological Dad you can adopt her. I am 17 and my mother adopted me after she married my biological dad because she wanted me to have the same name and legally be her daughter. It's a sweet thing to do. And I will be gratefull to my adopted mom forever. Any way thats my advice. Good Luck And congrats on your engagement

Letter to the editor, I need it revised please?

Yes. I do. 5 years ago I was forced to when I had to deal with my own mortality. I also have a will.

I have changed my own names (first as well as 'family' name) - and was surprised how easy it is to do this.. In British law, it simply requires that you write a statement saying that you renounce your previous name on a specified date, and that you intend henceforth to be known by the new one "for all purposes and at all times". . The statement (a 'statutory declaration') - needs to be witnessed - but anyone can do this. It does not require a solicitor at any stage. It must include your address, and samples of both old and new signatures. . It does not need to be written according to any particular 'formula', and it does not need to be written in archaic, legalistic terminology for it to be a legal document. You could hand-write the intended change on the back of a used envelope if you wanted to - its still a legal document, if it is clear in its purpose, and appropriately signed, dated and witnessed. . You then photocopy and circulate your 'declaration' to all parties - banks, utilities, Dept of Work/ Pensions, employer, DVLA etc etc - and, by law, all must recognise your new name, and make the appropriate changes to their records. It is not necessary to state any reason for the change.. You will find that recipients of the copied document will make the changes readily and without fuss. . Some people choose to make the change via a Deed Poll - which DOES involve legal fees - but there is no advantage in taking that route

In the event the current owner is not able to physically or mentally function the executor could act on his behalf.. . The cost to set up this trust would be determined by who would set it up. Using a paralegal might be less costly. You would want to google estate planner followed by the city and state in which you reside to find one that would be of assistance to you.

It depends on what the power of attorney is for. Some power of attorney forms only authorize a person to make health care decisions for the person. A limited power of attorney may authorize a person to sell a car or property for them. A durable financial power of attorney may give a person the powers to handle health care decisions, manage finances and to sell property. You would have to read it to see what powers have been given to the daughter.
