Right now, my daughter has my last name. My ex and I have been split up for 1 year and she asked me if she can change our daughters last name to both our last names. I guess she wants it to be "First name Middle name My last name - Her last name". The only reason this bothers me is because I feel I'm 'loosing' my daughter in a way. I was an abandoned baby and adopted at 3 months old. So I don't have any known blood relitives. My daughter is the only blood relative I have. . I'm still in her life. So it's not like she's doing it because I'm a deadbeat. But the ex has done some sneaky things in the past. So I'm not sure if this is another thing.. . But legally, if I agree to a name change, can it come back to bite me in the ass later?. . I live in California..
