My boyfriend and I had a written agreement when I moved in with him that if our relationship didn't work out, I would assume ownership of the home (he is not a United States resident, nor does he work here - just has visiting visa a few months a year - and has another home in his own country). Our relationship has been going down hill and he has recently done some things that are leading me to believe that he is going to not hold up his end of our agreement if we break up, which seems likely. He actually was the person who wrote the agreement out, it's very official and states that I retain the house completely (it's paid for) and assume all taxes and that kind of thing upon assuming ownership of it. It is signed by him and dated. I also have a letter from him stating that he is on his way to his attorneys to do the paperwork to transfer the house into my name, it is signed and dated. Because of the uncomfortable nature of our situation, I had a conversation with him about our agreement and recorded it, because I have been concerned that he would argue that we had this agreement or destroy the documents. As it has grown more apparent that our relationship is dissolving, he has asked me to do random things that would make the validity of our agreement seem questionable, which I have refused to do. Clearly, things have only grown more uncomfortable. I really want to know what my rights are in this situation. He is supposed to leave the US again in a few weeks and if there is something I need to do before he goes, I would like to know. I'm scared and don't want to agitate this situation, however, I'm concerned he could just sell the house or transfer it to someone else and I would find out in an abrupt and unpleasant way. I have a son and this is our home, the agreement was made in good faith. Please tell me what my rights might be here if you know. If you're an attorney and can help me with this, I'd be more than happy to find a way to pay you.. Howard, I wanted to add that the verbal conversation wasn't to change the written agreement, it was confirmation that we had made it. I know that it is foolish to involve relationships and money, sometimes there is no option.. Loanmaster, I am also wondering if the fact that he cannot legally live here is relevant? The agreement was made for many reasons and that was one of them. My main concern is for my family and this agreement was made with them in mind, by both of us. What I want to know more than anything is, if he didn't start the legal process to transfer the home, as he has claimed to have started (I have this claim in writing), which I have reason to believe he has not, what can I do?.

You could just go to your local council customer service office and do it in one day. Look up the address on your council website. If you are the only person left paying council tax, you will be able to get a 25% discount. Take your council tax bill with you. You may need to take proof of your friend's new address or student status.

___6. "Don't eat that pizza," warned Cheyenne. "It's over two weeks old ", she then explained.

Often (because not all are) this is done for a specific stylistic intention of the author, usually to relate perspective. Through the letter, the author can create the character of the writer of the letter and use that as the lens through which the events are related. Usually letter books are coupled with response letters which can supply an alternative perspective or are coupled with a narrative voice which does the same. Letter format can often suggest a more subjective or biased account of the events relayed because the format clearly demonstrates that the information contained in the letters comes from one person's point of view rather than from some unbiased, universal account.. . Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is an excellent example.. While the text's body is a narrated first person account (and reflection) of the life and creation of the "monster" by Victor Frankenstein, the novel itself is framed by letters from a sea captain sailing to the North Pole to his sister back in England. From these letters, the reader gets to see not only what happens to Victor and his creation but an understanding of what they are like from an external perspective rather than just Victor's own. The letters shed new light on Victor's character, allowing us to see the remorse, derangement, and pathetic state which his own personal understanding of himself would never reveal.
