  With over 35 years of experience as an attorney, Mr. DeRose is a member of the Westmoreland County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and the Association for Conflict Resolution and the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania.? For more than twenty years, Mr. DeRose has served as Chair of the Westmoreland County Bar Association Building Committee and is a founding member of Lawyers Abstract Company of Westmoreland County and served on its Board of Directors from 1987 – 1994. He is presently serving on the Board of Directors of the Westmoreland Bar Association and is the President-Elect.

  Mr. DeRose is a former instructor of real estate law at Pennsylvania State University, Westmoreland County Community College and the paralegal program at St. Vincent College. He has extensive firsthand experience in real estate and zoning matters by serving as Solicitor for numerous area zoning boards. He has represented the boards for the City of Latrobe since 1989, the Borough of Ligonier since 1987 and the Township of Unity since 1992. In addition, Mr. DeRose has served as Solicitor for the Treasurer’s Office of Westmoreland County from 1992-2011, and? served? as? Solicitor? for the Westmoreland County Recorder of Deeds Office from 1977 to 1981.? He also served as judicial law clerk for the Honorable Donetta W. Ambrose from 1982 – 1991.

  Mr. DeRose has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Westmoreland County Girl Scouts Council and Monsour Hospital. Since 1992, he has been the Chairman of the Latrobe Youth Commission, a group of citizens appointed by the Court to informally adjudicate non-violent criminal offenses committed by children, to counsel the children and/or their parents, and to rehabilitate through community service and other projects. He is also a member of the Excela Health Golden Hour Committee whose purpose is to educate on the importance of a quick medical response to the symptoms of a heart attack. Further, he serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association and the Latrobe Area Hospital Charitable Foundation.

  In his spare time, Mr. DeRose enjoys traveling with his family, gardening and attending Penn State football games.?

  Mr. DeRose received his B.A., with high distinction, from Pennsylvania State University in 1973 and his J.D. from Duquesne University in 1976, where he was editor-in-chief of Juris magazine. Mr. DeRose lives in Latrobe with his wife, Johnette, and their chocolate Labrador retriever, Liza. They have two sons, Nathaniel, who lives in Washington, D.C., and Christopher, who lives in Chicago, Illinois.

Can you change the biological mothers name on a birth certificate?

I am a Chinese immigrant, i have a green card, but i am not yet a citizen of the United States, i was wondering can i change my name from my Chinese name to a English name? So it will show an English name on my greencard, and on my drivers license, instead of Chinese pinyin style english.

I know you can change your avatar, cos I just done mine. But some avatar's look familiar but have differant names to them. So, can you change your name and if so how.?.

A durable power of attorney is a legal document that allows one person to act on behalf of another (within certain limits) beyond the person's incapacitation -- IF the power of attorney is stipulated to take effect after your aunt's incapacitation, then it is vital to prove that she is not, in fact, incompetent.. . This can be done several ways -- first, the social worker of the nursing home should have done a Mini-Mental Status Test -- this detects alertness -- the nurses will also be charting regularly how alert your aunt is. If they chart that she is alert and oriented times three (person, place, thing/date) then the POA (if it takes effect upon her incompetence) could be contested (which means that a judge could determine it invalid).. . If you think that your aunt is being taken advantage of, you should contact your local department of job and family services, and ask for the number for adult protective services, and the long-term care ombudsman.. . Technically, she CAN leave the nursing home against your cousin's advice -- IF she can consciously and cognitively make that decision -- the issue is, then -- whether it's against medical advice, or not (in Ohio, if a patient leaves AMA, he or she is responsible for the total cost of the stay -- medicare/medicaid/insurance won't pay).. . Start with adult protective services and the ombudsman.. . But, remember -- if the doctor diagnosed her, there was a reason for that diagnosis -- you are not there with her all the time, and you're not capable of adequately judging her mental status by a couple conversations on a telephone -- the nursing assistants and nurses interacting with her could be your best source of information.
