• Courtney Quist was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and attended The Bolles School, graduating in 1985. Following that, Courtney majored in English at the University of Florida, graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. After a move to Rochester Hills, Michigan, Courtney attended Wayne State University Law School, graduating in 1995 with a Juris Doctorate. Courtney passed the State Bar Exam in 1996, and practiced in the Detroit area, until she met and married the Honorable George Jay Quist, a Kent County Circuit Court Judge assigned to the Family Division. Together, Courtney and Jay Quist have a son named Jonathan Quist, who is 11 years old and attends school in the Forest Hills School District.

  Courtney and Jay Quist, along with their son Jonathan, enjoy traveling to Mexico and Tennessee for their vacations, watching old movies, and bowling. Jonathan, along with playing soccer, is a budding fisherman, and looks forward to fishing with his Grandfather.
