The legal ramifications of using what is essentially a nickname instead of your given name are probably minor, but I'd avoid it anyway. Your business cards should list your legal name. Just try and think of the variety of ways in which you could really confuse third parties...everyone from clients to the IRS. And you certainly don't want to confuse them. Also, you must use your legal name on your driver's license. I wouldn't play around with that, lest you be suspected of defrauding the dmv. You need to change your name, which is a simple process in most states. Petition for change of name through the circuit court in your jurisdiction, you can get details by calling the clerk of court. There may be a simple form to fill out, or you may breifly need legal representation. Shouldn't be a problem.

Your parents need to update their will with a Codicil or write a new one. They probably need a durable living will explaining their wishes about resuscitation, and a power of attorney. The power of attorney should be a general power of attorney and for a long enough period of time to make sure it is long enough.. NO, you should NOT take ownership of their real property, unless advised by a tax lawyer first. They may live a lot longer and what if YOU got run over by a car? You might be doing yourself a horrible disservice by taking their property. You might have to pay a LOT of taxes and even have to sell the place to pay them while otherwise if you inherited you might not have to.. YOU need to see an attorney. Most of them give the first consultation for free. Go talk to one immediately.

I have recently learned about how US birth certificates, social security cards and the entire legal system are tied into "maritime admiralty law". This is why the person's name is printed in all capitals letters on birth certificates and SS cards. The all caps represents you as an "artificial person" or a corporate entity - NOT as a natural person born with unalienable rights.. . I've learned in a documentary how we are not required to participate in the legal system (court, etc), if we choose to not represent the artificial person that is represented on the documents.. . My question is this: If a person legally changes their full name, what happens if they also choose to NOT have a new birth certificate and SS card created?. . Thanks!.
