Why do we need to use sophisticated vocabulary when writing formal letters?. Also why do we need to use more complex grammatical constructions?. Also why do we need to keep it passive?. And lastly why do we need to keep the tone impersonal?. The thing is I know we need to keep to all these rules listed above when writing formal letters but I don't know or can't explain the reasons why. Anyone have answers?.
