I'm thinking about becoming a naturalized American citizen recently and I just realized that my name on my green card doesn't really match with my social security.. For the sake of not using my real name on the Internet, I'll use MaryAnne Smith as an example.. On my green card, my last name is printed as: SMITH. But my given name is printed as: MARY ANNE (with a space in between Mary and Anne).. On my social security, license, and other official documents, however, my name is shown as MARYANNE SMITH (no space in between Mary and Anne).. Will it cause a problem when I legally change my name to something else? I'm still a college student and the biggest thing that I worry about is not being able to change my name on the diploma.. I became an American permanent resident when my parents became ones. So, I didn't have the choice to keep my two name together. Since it's a Chinese name, it can really be spelled in either way (with or without the space). I'm concerned that this could potentially cause a problem when I legally change my name..

how do i write a application letter.

I have a form that I have scanned into my computer (it is a pdf file). It is a certificate we give to our drivers and since we no longer have typewriters, I need to find a way to get the names and other info onto the blank form. HELP!.

    what is friendly format?

First: don't beat yourself up over this. It is truly amazing how often foul-ups like this happen in the business world. Especially when a large group is responsible for reviewing a document that goes through many revisions.. . Nobody on Yahoo! Answers is going to be able to predict what will happen in your workplace. Having said that:. . There's a chance that top management will look for a scapegoat. That could be you, or it could be your boss. But, with so many people involved, I think the odds are better that nothing will happen.. . To some extent, it will depend on the nature of the letter. The consequences would likely be worse if the letter made some kind of legal commitment.. . Chances are that there will be no long-term repercussions for you. Learn from the experience, and try not to make the same mistake again. (Let me complement you for realising in the the first place that somebody else should proofread your work. Too bad your boss doesn't understand this.). . I hope things work out for you.. . -- Joe
