  • Stacey Feeley Cavanagh is a partner at Cavanagh Law Group. Stacey specializes her practice in medical malpractice, product liability, negligence and wrongful death cases. Stacey is a former partner at Ungaretti & Harris in Chicago, where she defended corporations in cases involving product liability and mass tort litigation as well as commercial litigation. Prior to joining Ungaretti, Stacey worked for a prominent insurance defense firm, Williams & Montgomery, defending insurance companies in catastrophic injury and death cases.

Stacey's prior experience representing corporations and insurance companies has afforded her a unique perspective in representing plaintiffs who have suffered serious injury or death. Specifically, Stacey spent years representing a large medical device manufacturer as part of the national defense team for hundreds of latex glove product liability suits filed against the company and consolidated in multi-district litigation. In addition to the latex glove cases, Stacey represented other medical device manufacturers in numerous cases involving their products which resulted in serious injury and death. From this experience, Stacey has an in-depth understanding as to how medical device manufacturers approach and defend their cases. She has been able to use her knowledge and experience to better represent plaintiffs who have been injured as a result of manufacturers' negligence.

While defending insurance companies, Stacey handled nearly every type of injury case including those involving automobile liability, medical malpractice, premises liability, construction liability, and bus, truck and train liability. She had the opportunity to see first-hand how insurance companies evaluate and choose to defend suits filed against them. Now that Stacey has switched her practice to solely representing plaintiffs who have been catastrophically injured or killed, she is able to anticipate the insurance companies' strategies and maximize plaintiffs' recoveries.

Stacey earned a B.A. in English from Boston College in 1992. She graduated from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1995 where she received the American Jurisprudence Awards for both Conflicts of Law and Advanced Legal Research. Stacey is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Women's Bar Association and Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.

i am working in a recording studio and i need contracts for my voice-overs who would be dubbing a film?

Hello,. I am horrible at writing business letters. I was hoping you can help.. The story/issue is a owner at a mall payed the bill late for the manager and they are apologizing.. etc.. Here is what I wrote so far. . Dear Name Last name,. The letter you sent to (Name of the Store) was received well. We are aware. that we were supposed pay the money earlier, and we apologize for paying. the bill late. We will follow the "rules" (I don't know a better word..?)in the future and we hope cooperate? (I don't know what to write from there .. ). Thank you.. . I just need that written in a more professional way. Thank you so much! . Best Answer will be chosen. Thanks so much!!!!!!!.

Usually name changes are published in a legal journal or the local newspaper. However, when it comes to domestic violence cases, it is not made public, simply because it's a safety issue. That's just like saying if i changed my name because of my abusive estranged husband, and obtained a restraining order, and the court decided to publish my new name and address in the legal journal. There are certain rights that are protected, and this is one of them.

I got married in Karnataka under Special Marriage Act couple of years back. I retained my maiden name since all my qualification certificates, work experience letters, passport and visa are with maiden name. I am currently in USA and need to apply for Indian passport renewal. I am seeing a clause on VFS site that "married woman must submit name change affidavit" during passport renewal application which worries me upon my marriage legal status.. . According to Indian laws is it legal to retain maiden name? How do others prove their educational or professional experience post name change?.

I think that is great that you want to change your name to reflect your heritage.. . Yes, you can change your name, usually as long as it does not involve fraud or some other dodgy reason, it is allowed.
