do I need to change passport/bank details etc?

I signed my son up for MMA at a local place, I had to sign a yr contract if I wanted out I would have to pay a percent to buy out-(also in the contract was the agreement of the monthly fee being direct pay outta my account on the 5th of every month) the 1st month i had to go remind them to pull payment (that was on the 25th), The 2nd month no payment with draw, 3rd month same thing (my son only went maybe 10x the 1st month then quit so I thot perhaps that was why they didnt take payment) on the 4th month they called and saidnI was behind in payments and that 'A contract is a contract', I feel as tho THEY broke the contract first by not taking the money when they said they would--- So my question is who broke it first and should I still be responsible for the payments.
