There are 2 types of Power of Attorney. There is a special power of attorney, and there is a general power of attorney. The special power of attorney, you can give that person permission to do what you state in the document, for a specific amount of time. A general power of attorney is more powerful, it gives them rights to everything you have, from all decision making, to bank accounts, credit cards....everything. When you do draft a power of attorney, ALWAYS specify for a specific amount of time....then you could always renew it. Unless you're completely disabled, then you won't need a general power of attorney. Also, you can go and ask the Hospital what they would need in case something would happen to your child. But don't let them fool you, in cases of DIRE EMERGENCY, they are required to do what it takes to treat your child....this is federal law. Asking an attorney also won't hurt. I wish you the best of luck.

Say I have already faxed something in regards to this letter, is there somewhere I need to put FAXED: example, on this letter? Or do I just simply state that in the letter?? . hope I make sense!.

He called and said that he has to put Power of Attorney in my name. Then he had to go! What is that? He said that he had to before he leaves for 6 months. Do I have to agree or sign papers? And do I sign it back to him when he gets home? I remember my Grandma doing this, with my Aunt when she was sick. When she got better my Aunt didn't sign it back over to her and later when she passed my Aunt took everything my Grandma owned! Why do Spouses have to do this? If something happens to them? I am surprised the Men/Women do this with their Spouse with the high rate of divorce. If the Wife ups and leaves can't she always have the POA over them? I won't. We have been together for 13 yrs! I just was thinking this seems shady for ones that have been together for a year or so!. Thanks Jennifer! yes he is in the Military not going to jail!

What does a real estate attorney do? and how much do they typically cost for their job?

Most important as an admin you'll need to know how to type and properly format a letter. The office may have templates but sometimes you'll just have to do it on the fly.
