Power of Attorney can be issued by an Legal Representative from the Person desiring to allow a certain individual to take care of certain issues in their stead. It can only be revoked by the Person submitting the POA unless it expires. If you have not gotten a revocation letter also issued by a legal representative from the Person originally issuing (in this case your uncle) it becomes a legal problem in which proof must be shown that you were given notice. emails, phone calls ect. will not work. You need a Revocation of Power of Attorney with a State seal that verifies it is official this seal tells you who did it and where. If you do not have this then your POA is active and you need to confront his step son and your uncle about it. If your uncle cannot recollect any knowledge of this then you need to seek legal aid and prepare for potential court hearings to see who has lawful POA over whatever your subject is.

I've done research on Living Will and Advance Directive. From what I understand, my directives have to be followed even if I could or would die as a result.. In reality, are these Advance Directives really honored in emergency situations, especially if it involves refusing treatment (if I specify that certain surgeries are not to be performed, for instance)?
