How can IT developer find job in the UK if he has no practice in spoken English, but good writting skills?

In my training in customer service we were told NEVER to APOLOGIZE .. but rather to THANK them. So don't do the "sorry for..." line... rather to THANK them for their understanding, patience, cooperation, etc. It sits better. I do this all the time when I'm taking pizza orders at my 2nd job. If there's been some mix up, or a long time to wait for the computer, or a product is unavailable, instead of saying "I'm sorry..." I say, "Thank you for your patience..." or whatever. They usually take it a whole lot better, too.. . The closing I use in business letters is "Yours truly." It covers all bases... and you don't have to worry about being "sincere.".
