• Attorney Kiley has headed the Boston Office since 1987. He is a former Massachusetts Assistant Attorney General, having served as the First Assistant Attorney General between 1977 and 1987. His initial practice with the firm built off of that state service and his practice has grown ever since. Attorney Kiley continues to provide occasional counsel to state agencies and authorities, but his government practice now focuses on cases involving state, federal and local government for private businesses and citizens. His practice covers all areas handled by the firm, with an emphasis on administrative, constitutional and criminal law. He has a nationwide practice in white collar criminal matters and in election law generally and initiatives and referendum matters in particular. He has tried cases and handled appeals for a wide range of clients at every level of the Massachusetts and United States Courts, including the presentation of arguments to the United States Supreme Court. Attorney Kiley graduated from Harvard College with honors in 1968, served in the United States Army and then attended Boston University Law School. In 1973, Mr. Kiley joined Attorney Cosgrove in the office of Francis X. Bellotti at the firm's current Quincy address. He returned to the firm in 1987. Mr. Kiley has been on the Board of Arbella Mutual Insurance Company since it was founded in 1988. He won National Citizen of the Year awards from the United States Marshals Service in 1996 and the United States Department of Justice in 1997. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trial Attorneys.

But worldwide, the Mercedes-Benz (produced by Daimler-Benz) has been in continuous production the longest.. . When it comes to vehicles powered by the internal combustion engine, then Carl Benz is given credit for actually building one. Benz championed the new internal-combustion engines, and he worked single-minded to create a car driven by one. He built a little three-wheeled car in 1885 and sold his first one two years later. He went into production with a four-wheeled model in 1890, and the Mercedes-Benz company is still with us.. . In 1924 a merger took place for a new company, Daimler-Benz, that led to a new brand name for the products produced by both, Mercedes-Benz. Daimler-Benz merged with Chrysler in 1999, resulting in Daimler-Chrysler.. . HISTORY:. It is generally acknowledged the first automobiles with gasoline powered internal combustion engines were completed almost simultaneously by several German inventors working independently: Karl Benz built his first automobile in 1885 in Mannheim. Benz was granted a patent for his automobile on January 29, 1886 and began the first production of automobiles in 1888. Soon after, Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in Stuttgart in 1889 designed a vehicle from scratch to be an automobile rather than a horse carriage fitted with an engine.. . Daimler and Maybach were struggling financially with the company they had formed and on November 28, 1890, with an injection of capital from some investors, the company was converted into a public corporation named the Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft, or DMG. In 1892 DMG sold its first automobile. In 1894 at the Hermann Hotel, Maybach together with Daimler and his son Paul designed a third engine called the Phoenix and had DMG make it.
