Its not bit confused you guys are totally confused.. The registered marriage that you speak about is the civil marriage under the Special Marriage Act,1954 where none of the parties required to convert or change their original religion or name.. Her parents are correct when they agree for your marriage under this Act without her converting, this simple marriage which is duly registered by the Marriage Officer/Registrar for which one month notice for marriage has to be given by both parties & after one month both get married in presence of three witnesses.. Now any other form of marriage you do after this has no validity in the eye of law & hence no need for further registration of that religious drama you do in order to satisfy your parents or the society around you, you better forget any other registration of your religious marriage with her,let that be done for social purpose only not from legal point of view.. As far changing her name before or after the marriage is another mistake you want to do as by doing this, you no doubt get gazette notification done but that will not get all her original documents such as her educational credentials, birth certificate, etc with her original name changed.. Rather in future if you both are in a foreign country where she wish to take up job, her educational credentials will show her original name & her other documents such as marriage certificate, passport etc will have her new name, this will not be so easy for her & specially you my dear friend to explain it to the foreign authorities, if you don't believe me, than better search & find people like you who did this mistake & now suffer. Let her keep her original mane for all official purposes even if you change her name for social purposes and for that no gazette notification required.
