  • When people in southern Minnesota think of law firms, the name Hoversten, Johnson, Beckmann & Hovey, LLP, tends to come to mind. Since 1941, we have been the law firm that many people turn to when they face a serious legal issue.

We are the largest law firm in southern Minnesota, between Rochester and the South Dakota border. We represent individuals, business owners and farmers in a broad range of legal areas, including personal injury, insurance defense, family law and divorce, estate planning, probate services, real estate law, employment disputes and business law.

We have the reputation as lawyers who try cases. Many lawyers shrink from the gritty stuff in the courtroom, preferring to settle every case that comes their way. We do not.

Our law firm also represents a number of municipalities and public agencies in southern Minnesota, including the cities of Austin, Adams, Lyle, Dexter, Waltham and Mapleview, and several townships. Our public agency clients include the Austin HRA, Austin Planning and Zoning Commission, Austin Human Rights Commission, Farmers Home Administration, Soil and Water Conservation District, Farm Credit Services, the Veterans Administration, Port Authority for the City of Austin and the Blooming Prairie School District.

Our attorneys handle employee discipline cases, termination cases (including teacher terminations) and alleged violations of human rights (including hearings before the Minnesota Human Rights Commission). Our firm has also been retained by various county governments to assist with specific projects.

I haven't been in the insurance business as long as you were looking for, but I work for an agency that has successfully survived for 15 years. We market mainly to businesses. In tough economic times, we work harder to come up with more creative, innovative ideas to control the costs while maintaining the quality of benefits.. . I would suggest before you look into selling discount medical cards, you contact your state's Attorney General's office. Complaints are filed quite often about these discount programs and many states are working together to ban them.. . By the way, I have been doing this for five years and make a comfortable living.

An offer is kind of like a worksheet that leads up to the contract which is a different form. Just make sure you initial any negotiation changes. Put stips in like earnest $ will be refunded if (title is not marketable, inspections produce more than (amount you are willing to spend to fix something if seller not willing to fix it). Be sure to list what fixtures/ window treatments will stay. Have seller initial along with you every little detail. You say you have financing. Get your lender involved. They are going to make sure everything will get done properly.

General Power of Attorney prepared on plan paper in favour of your father dully signed, witnessed & attested by the Notary Public with his Stamp from USA has to be sent to your father who can use this GPA for conducting any land/property transaction on your behalf. For detailed discussion regarding the contents of the GPA etc contact me directly.

Most reputable warranty administrators have products that dealers and warranty re-sellers offer consumers. These service contracts are regulated state to state by different laws. However, most offer the consumer a 60 day, 100% refund of any funds used to purchase an extended service contract.. . You will need to first look at your original agreement that you signed. This should have the warranty administrators name, address and phone number. Jot that down!

My friend and I are applying for an apartment, and the landlord wants a letter of employment from each of our workplaces. My friend's boss is refusing to give him one and now ignoring his calls. Is this legal? If not, who do we take the problem up with?. I guess "landlord" is slightly inaccurate, it's the manager of a corporate-owned trailer park, so his hands are tied as far as what is required. They already want pay stubs, a w-2 AND the letter of employment..

I need a letter of resignation to hand into my employer but don't know what to write. The reason I am leaving is because I did not get paid for 2 months even though you were meant to be paid on a weekly basis. And when I finally did I was underpaid. I want this to be put into the letter as to why I am leaving. I have looked at templates online and they all say thank you for the opportunity and it was great to be working with you and all nice things about the company. Now I don't want to be rude but I don't want to be so nice. Now I am not saying that I want the letter to say how much of a horrible company they were to work for or anything. Any help would be great. .
