If you treat others with kindness and respect, even at 16 you must have some stories of how you helped someone, or stuck up for someone being bullied, or helped a friend get through a rough time or assignment. At 16 employers understand you have little or no work experience, and are looking for people who will show up to work on time, work their assigned schedules, get a long with the others in the crew, and treat the customers nice and always smile. Without saying "I" too much put that in a letter. For example, My grades are above average, and I have received good remarks from my teachers on accomplishing my work on time. During the past 2 years of school, I have missed only 1 day, and that was for a dentist appointment. I am friends with everyone in my class, and enjoy working on group projects, especially those where I have leadership responsibilities. Although only 16, I have learned one key to working with others is not to be too bossy and more like a coach instead. My teachers always give me high marks for deportment, and often tell my parents what a polite and respectful person I am. I would think very carefully about it, and what should be stated in the POA. Do you want him to receive the money directly on your behalf from the sale of land. I would give him specific powers only in the form of a SPECIAL POWER OF ATTORNEY, rather than a GENERAL POWER OF ATTORNEY, and state clearly that you need to be informed (before any final decisions are made) in writing, so that there are no problems in the future.. . If you agree to give him Power of Attorney, I would write out exactly what powers you are giving him and what level, send him a draft copy that he can get a final version made on Indian stamp paper, I think it's a RS 100 stamp paper, through a lawyer in India, then have him send it to you. I would strongly suggest you review it with a local lawyer and understand fully its implications before you sign it, you can then sign it in front of a notary if you are in full agreement of how it reads. Make a copy for yourself, and then send original to your father-in-law for his use and safe-keeping.. . All kinds of land fraud takes place on basis of POA in India. Be extremely careful, because if it does occur in your case and you decide to take legal action, then it will take several years before you get a resolution of any kind depending on circumstances.
