  Too often, an accuser is a bitter, or even hateful ex-lover, a disgruntled ex-coworker, or just a busybody that wants to make somebody's life utter hell.? That would depend entirely on the extent of the disability, and whether either, or both, physical or mental abilities were affected.. Some of the physical duties could include:- . 1. Physical care - washing, feeding, physiotherapy, regulation and timing of medication, toileting, etc. Or organizing a professional carer to do so. Making sure that you keep in touch with their health care professional, so you know what to watch out for, or signs that their condition may be better/worse. Assisting the person to attend to all the requirements of as healthy a life as possible.. 2. Additional care may include laundering, house cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, banking, etc.. 3. Providing such mental stimulation as required, or possible. That means that they can't be left for hours without anything to look at, hear, or to stimulate them. It may mean that they should get out and about, as far as that is possible.. 3. If the person is mentally incapable of handling their own affairs it may be necessary to have "Financial Power of Attorney", which means that the carer is also responsible for regulating the persons finances, paying bills, looking after any investments, etc. This requires them to handle the money in the ill person's best interest and does not entitle them to use the money as their own. That would be fraud.. 4. Then there's "Enduring Power of Attorney" which includes the financial aspects, but also then the person has the right to also decide what medical interventions, or not, are to be done to the person. Also gives the person the right to decide if the person should go to a nursing home, or hospital, etc. This has the highest level of responsibility involved.. So it is a big decision to make, to be a carer, one that can be very draining, is open to pitfalls, if you are not strong and focused. You have to decide if you are the right kind of person, one who is suitable for this.
