That's probably something that would be better started with a phone call. I don't know that there are templates of letters like this... I don't think it's common enough yet.. . You would want to call and ask for the marketing manager, and leave a voice mail stating that you want to discuss the domian and url of the web site. Don't say what you want to discuss in detail - like the actual purchase, but if you just leave your name and number you won't get a call back.. . After discussing it with them on the phone, you will likely exchange contact information including email addresses. If they're using the domain for their corporate email, then the likelyhood of them selling the domain is very slight. If they're not, then you need to figure out what's in it for them to sell it. It likely won't be profitable for them unless you're willing to pay a lot for the site.. . The emails can be informal until the actual sale comes about. Historians keep telling us we should learn from past deeds. But in the last 70 years (only) we keep repeating the same atrocities. Think of how many documentaries and thesises have been written about the Holocaust perpetrated by the Nazis? Now fast forward twenty five years on from 1945 , Pol Pot and the killing fields of Cambodia and the whole "year zero" concept. Did the Cambodians learn anything then? Fast forward another 22 years and we are in the former Yugoslavia, another fabulous example of ethnic cleansing. There wasn't even a space of 10 years before the same systematic genocide was being perpetrated in a little known African country called Rwanda. . So the only people who learn anything from history is historians. The leaders of this planet certainly don't seem to be learning anything beneficial.
