My grandmother had a stroke and is not the full ticket, she was deceived out of some money, recently I have given her fifty pounds in cash then used her debit card to get the fifty pounds out (all my family knows the pin number), I am worried I may be in trouble potentially as she was complaining about me keeping her card so i gave it back. But i am worried about her having it stolen, I have thrown out the pin numbers which were written down all over her house. Should I get power of attorney to not make myself liable? What would I have to do if get power of attorney, is it hassle? Should i take her card to stop anyone stealing it, although i think all the copies of the PIN number has been thrown out. Not sure how to handle this. my father (her son, had a stroke and isn't able to be the power of attorney) My mother doesn't want to get involved. Someone recently who had spoken to her asked me why she wasn't in a home.. . And finally, if i don't get power of attorney can lawyers come in will our family lose all the possible inheritance?.
