I want to apply for a job that was advertised in the paper, for writers. But they didn't say what kind of writers they wanted. What should I say in the e-mail?.
So I make beats every now and then as a hobby, often with samples. An artist I know recently decided they liked them and want to use them for a demo/mixtape... I know legally you cannot profit off of copy written works but if if it is used as a demo am I liable? In addition, am I liable if the artist makes money but I refuse any payment for the beats? Lastly whats the worst penalty for this infringement... could I/the artist be fined in excess of the mixtapes earned revenue..could jail time even be a factor. The bottom line is that im not trying to make any money off of this, im just curious if by allowing my friend to use these beats if I am exposing myself to possible ramifications..
