  • "Family law is business law and just about every other type of law. You become an expert at so many different types of law because no case is ever the same as another."

Jessica Janicek thought she would go into business or corporate litigation after earning her law degree. But she found herself drawn to family law, which gives her an outlet for her passionate concern for people and her motivation to make their lives better.

"My mother worked for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for many years," she says. "I went with her on many of her cases and was exposed to family issues at a young age."

Ms. Janicek grew up in Austin and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in marketing from Baylor University in 2006. She earned her Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 2009 and was licensed to practice in the state later that year.

During law school, she clerked or interned for the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT), the Denton County District Attorney's Office, a medical malpractice defense law firm and a general practice law office. She also served as a summer research assistant for Professor Keith Hirokawa at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.

She finished ninth in her law school class among 145 students, was Articles Editor on the Law Review Executive Board, made the Dean's List all three years, was a recipient of the Texas Wesleyan Judicial Scholarship and worked on the Wesleyan Innocence Project.

She also worked as a color guard director for several band programs in Central and North Texas. As the principal of Jessica Hall Public Relations, she did marketing and PR for numerous clients in television, radio, music and film.

She is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association and the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association.

She quickly connected to the attorneys and staff at KoonsFuller. "I knew of KoonsFuller's reputation in law school. I'm here because their team is the absolute best. And when you want to be the best, you have to learn from the best. I knew everyone here was smart and talented, but they are also awfully supportive. They believe in the team approach."

When changing your name in the UK where do you get the document that you need to send the Passport office,?

Is there any way we can learn web design online?.

Are there any good free legal forms to prevent someone from stealing my idea?

Documents for such a change must be EITHER originals or certified copies. A photocopy or NOTARISED copy is insufficient. If the entire basis of the "proof" of the name change is the drivers licence, this may be insufficient. I base this on the fact that I know someone who uses their middle name and surname. Their original Social Security card had first name, middle initial, surname. Their drivers licence had first name, middle name, surname. They were able to get the middle initial changed to their middle name easily enough, they also had their first name (which they never use) deleted from their drivers licence. Technically, their LEGAL name is their middle name and surname (they can and DO use this for all matters regarding a legal signature). However, without actually getting a court approved NAME change, they are unable to get their Social Security card to display their "correct" legal name of middle name and surname. This being in spite of the fact that ALL their documents (aside from their Social Security card) except for their birth certificate display only their middle name and surname (which IS their legal signature). Again, the original OR a certified copy may be used (not a photocopy or notarised copy), but a drivers licence alone is likely not sufficient.

This is a professional situation. It calls for a follow up letter, not a thank you note. You can find a template for such a letter online. It should be typed not handwritten. This will give you the best chance at landing one of the jobs,

If your dad has passed away, your POA is no longer effective. The estate's trustee is in charge of all affairs of the estate.. . If you dad is still alive, he must issue a new POA that rescinds the prior one and adds your sibling as an additional agent. He will sign and have notarized this new POA.. . You might have the sibling named as a successor agent, so only one of you has authority at a time. At some point you can resign your agency and let it fall to the sibling.
