  • Ronald H. Siegel has over 35 years of experience handling New Jersey Workers' Compensation claims. Before recently joining the prestigious firm of Goldstein, Ballen, O'Rourke & Wildstein, Mr. Siegel worked as a claimant's attorney for a major law firm, and managed his own successful private practice. Mr. Siegel has handled thousands of workers' compensation and personal injury cases to conclusion.

During Mr. Siegel's legal career, he spent a short time as house counsel for a major insurance company. He has used this experience to gain useful insight into the inner workings of an insurance company and because of this, he understands the reasons why certain decisions are made by insurance company claims adjusters. Mr. Siegel utilizes this knowledge in preparing his cases for both settlement negotiations and for trial.

In the early part of Mr. Siegel's legal career, he was with the Baltimore City Public Defender's Office. During this time, he represented indigent defendants in a variety of cases including major felony offenses.

    Representative Cases

Mr. Siegel was able to settle a case on behalf of a widow whose husband died of a deep vein thrombosis, alleged to be due to driving to a business trip. After a full trial, but before the court rendered a decision, the employer, who had previously refused to offer any money, agreed to pay $300,000.

Mr. Siegel obtained a lifetime award of Total Permanent Disability Benefits for a client whose work-related injury was a tear of the left rotator cuff. He was able to accomplish this even though the client was subsequently injured and incarcerated for assaulting a police officer.

When the insurance company refused to pay for a knee replacement for a worker who fell on his knee, Mr. Siegel filed a Motion for Medical Treatment and after taking the testimony of three orthopaedic surgeons, the court ordered that the insurance company pay for the treatment and provide temporary disability benefits to the worker while he was out of work. The Court also suggested that the insurance company attorney unreasonably denied the claim.

Mr. Siegel was able to obtain Total Disability Benefits for a worker who injured his back pulling a pallet. The client is projected to receive over $1,108,000 during his lifetime.

After protracted delays, Mr. Siegel was able to persuade several employers to pay the equivalent of over $340,000 to the widow of a worker who was alleged to have worked around asbestos.

Mr. Siegel obtained disability benefits approximating $65,000 for a woman who injured her shoulder after falling into a ladder while at work.

When a worker who injured her leg and back after being struck by an automobile outside her place of employment sought worker's compensation benefits, Mr. Siegel was able to obtain an award of over $72,000.

After a mechanic suffered an injury to his eye, Mr. Siegel successfully obtained disability benefits totalling over $171,000.

Mr. Siegel obtained disability benefits of over $162,000 for a worker who was assaulted at work and suffered an injury to her cervical spine.

If your names isn't on the deed, then your friend made a serious mistake in estate planning. If your name is also not on the written will, then you cannot possibly be an heir and you have no claim whatsoever to your friend's house or anything else in the estate.. . Since you say there is an "executor" then there must be a written will that gives him that power and it would be on file in the local probate court. Go ask them for a copy of it and see what it says you're supposed to get, then hire an attorney to make sure you get it.

My family is in the middle of an inheritance battle. My grandparents left a house to be split between my father, uncle, and aunt. Since my father and aunt passed away, me and my sisters will get my fathers, and my aunt's children will get hers.
