  Before becoming a partner in Jacobson & Han LLP, Ms. Han was the supervising attorney and head of the immigration department for several small and mid-size law firms. She has vast experience in handling all aspects of immigration law including family-based petitions, business immigration, deportation and removal, asylum, temporary protected status, U-visas, citizenship and naturalization, and appeals at all levels.

  Ms. Han received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law where she earned the American Jurisprudence Award in Constitutional Law. Ms. Han was also selected to be a member of the Moot Court Honors Program where she was an oral advocate for the Products Liability team and competed around the country.

  Ms. Han gives frequent lectures for various bar organizations as a panel member for discussions on topics such as deportation and removal defense, waivers, and consular processing. She is also the co-author with her law partner for the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s Practice Toolbox, Third Edition, a practical resource for practicing immigration attorneys, on the topic of how to properly notify a client prior to a deportation/removal hearing.

  Ms. Han has been voted as a “Super Lawyer” by her colleagues and peers, and has been named as one of the “Top Lawyers in Southern California” as featured in Los Angeles Magazine for 2010, 2011, and 2012.

  Ms. Han is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of California, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Ms. Han is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Korean-American Bar Association, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

The best bet is to have your attorney do the letters. I have one client whose law firm (under a written set of instructions) has the premium notice from the life insurance company sent to their firm, prepare and send the Crummey letters and then pay the premium. All the client has to do is open a letter each year from the law firm indicating a premium is due and send them a check. Other than that, they don't have to lift a finger. A nice service.
