I don't believe that "withholding extreme medical measures" is considered euthanasia. Euthanasia is also known as assisted suicide where the person is GIVEN an extreme medical "treatment" that will cause cardiac arrest.. . No, it is not humane. However, allowing someone to pass by withholding extreme medical measures (for example, open heart surgery with the implantation of an internal pacemaker on a 95 year old) is acceptable. That kind of radical surgery for that client would almost entirely mean death on the table or during an attempt at recovery.. . Likewise, in the ICU that I work in, many clients are on mechanical ventilators. Sometimes an advanced directive or the durable power of attorney wishes that the person be removed from the ventilator. With that, they soon have respiratory failure and pass. Is that euthanasia? No. Because euthanasia is illegal. We are not allowed to do illegal things.. . Likewise, advanced directives can be made at any time. If you are in an accident and unable to speak for yourself, advanced directives will tell the healthcare providers and family that your wishes are not to be sustained by artificial means. However, if you are not being sustained by artificial means (ventilator/tube feeding), then it is illegal for a healthcare provider to infuse a medication that intends to cause death. It is against the "vows" that physicians and even nurses take when they obtain license to practice.

I had a miscarrige on nov 9 and on nov 13 I called the hospital because the tape they use to hold the iv gave me a rash....and they said just come in will take at look at now they are charging me ove $200 for the visit....and I did called the billing department and they say to write a letter explaining why I should not pay that bill....I need help using the right medical terms........or even how to explain the iv process......

I had a credit card that went to collection over seven years ago. But one has sold it to other and other and now I have a new collection agency telling me that I owe them money for a debt and it will stay on my credit until 2012 That will make it a total of 13 years this debt for $2000 is following me. Can they do this. I have disputed it once but I just tried and dipute it again. And experian told me no that I already disputed it. Now what.
